Semester 1 Week 2

This week was mostly me trying to figure out a suitable sculpting workflow for the table and get some grain detail into the base mesh.

 

I was able to achieve this effect by using the clay tubes brush in Zbrush to build up the flow of the grain and then the trim dynamic brush to flatten the surface. With a few tweaks with the dam standard brush, I was able to get a fairly convincing wood grain.

 

 

The same technique is used all over, but there is a slightly different effect I have to create for the metal parts. I wanted it to look like hammered metal, so I used the polish brush to make slight indentations in the mesh.
