Semester 1 Week 12

I started using speedtree to make bushes for the forest scene, I've never used this program before so its been a challenge. However, its incredibly powerful so it has been super fun to use. Making vegetation is so easy and I would never make it by hand again.

With this program I've been able to make 4 variations of bushes, each are about thigh high, so they're definitely background objects but I am really happy with how they turned out.

Speedtree is super helpful when it comes to texturing because it allows you to preview textures in the program and then they can easily be applied to in Maya.

I specifically made the leaves on my bushes much bigger than natural leaves because we wanted to cut down on geometry. In order to keep the bush from looking empty, I decided to size up the leaves so it fills the form. There aren't that many supporting branches in the bush as they are meant to be in the background and therefore should have as geo as possible.
