Semester 2 Week 3

The dragon's rig needed a couple fixes so I worked on that to start the week. I added an FK/IK control that is more accessible to the animators. I also made some minor adjustments to the control curves per request. Mainly just some resizing.

 

I also started working on our cloth pipeline. I created a basic pattern in Marvelous Designer for George's shirt. I am not used to Marvelous and so it took me longer than I would have liked to get a result out. However, I did get something working so I could start to simulate it in Maya. I'm using Qualoth to simulate all the cloth in the short. I ran into more than a few problems getting things like the belt to work, but its mostly just trial and error. 

Motion capture cleanup can be a pain sometimes, but its mostly because Motion Builder wants things to be done in a specific way. I've started to characterize all the animation we captured in order to apply that to George. After its been applied I have to mess with the animation in order to fix the differences between our actor and the model. It's mostly just pulling his hands away so they don't clip through the body and changing the angle of the head.
